Personalised Gifts - Baby Keepsake Boxes

With the New Year upon us and a renewed enthusiasm to start 2022 off right, I've tasked myself with organizing all the digital photos (I can never delete the duplicates because they're also cute!, right?!!) and finishing my babies' keepsake boxes. 

Keepsake boxes for babies are a beautiful way to treasure those special memories from before their birth, and other important milestones in their lives. The irony is that as Mums we think we are putting the memory boxes together for them, but I think we get the most joy and nostalgia from these treasures... I can't ever imagine wanting my own baby teeth or hair?! I still find these things slightly bizarre. So instead of a keepsake box for the baby, think of it as a memory box for Mum!

You can choose whatever you hold dear to feature in your box, here are a few ideas from mine:

- Acid-free tissue paper 

What I have in my keepsake box:

- pregnancy scans and cds

- hospital birth cards (great reminder of birth weight, cm's and time - you think you won't forget but you do...)

- hospital bracelet (i love that mine say 'baby of Lisa' as we didn't name them straight away!)

- coming home outfit or first onesie 

- newspaper from day of birth

- baby pictures

- first shoes 

- first curl/teeth (if you are that way inclined)

- baby shower invite/cards

- birth congratulations cards

- baby blanket

- first hand/footprint tins

In my daughter's baby book there was a page dedicated to a snapshot of the year she was born, It featured questions such as popular songs in the charts?, who is the Prime Minister? which movies and tv shows are you watching? what is the price of bread and milk? I like the way it captures a snapshot in time. You could write your own list and add it to your baby box so your child can marvel at inflation, and your choice of music, in later years! We also bought a newspaper from the hospital newsagent on the day she was born. It makes an interesting addition to your memory box.

Personalised Keepsake Box

Having your baby's name, initials or birthdate on your memory box is a gorgeous way to make it even extra special. Our personalised boxes feature a love heart keyring that attaches to the handle of the box. It can be personalised with your baby's details. 

Christening Keepsakes

Tips and Tricks

If you have any photographs make sure to put them in a protective sleeve so they don't stick together and ruin. If you are keeping baby blankets or clothes, you might want to wrap them in acid-free tissue paper to stop them from yellowing.

There are no rules when it comes to putting together a baby memory box. Look at it as your own little treasure box.
